For those of you who wondered why a swarm of bumble bees hit Newmarket a few Saturdays ago, well it was my hen night. I chose to spend it in town at the White Hart and then on to Deniros. Most hen parties go down to London or take a flight somewhere fancy but I just wanted some fun and that meant not having to stress out about numbers, costs and getting there. I wish to thank the White Hart and Deniros for putting up with us.

Hitting town like a swarm of bees
April 7th, 2009Getting fit for summer
April 7th, 2009I’m training hard with Matt Coe form Inspire at the moment. He has me training like a trooper and doing series of exercises that are called “The GI Jane” and “The Grace”. Let me tell you there is no Grace in Grace. Each time i’m presented with a new move the first thing I say is “I cant”, yet by the time I’ve finished my session I reflect that I can! Matt is really motivational and gets results, I feel fitter and my bottom is looking rather pert, if i do say so myself.

Tulip have new ranges coming in constantly. My recent purchases include a Tara Jarmon khaki dress with lace detail and a Twin Set dress thats very boho and heavily embellished for the evening. Relaxing at The Spa Ely
April 7th, 2009Gosh I love my job! I have just spend the most divine and relaxing afternoon at the Spa Ely. Set in a Grade II listed building the exterior looks small and quaint, however appearances are deceiving. As you walk into the retail area and up the grand staircase you enter a labyrinth of treatment and relaxation rooms. I took the opportunity to have an Elemis Facial, that I have re-named the WOW factor facial and a relaxing Holistic massage. I left with a my bag full and purse empty as I couldn’t resist in buying some of the Elemis products my therapist, Caroline, used and also some Molton Brown Bubble bath.

Take some Pride
November 3rd, 2008Having paid my first ever visit to the new hair and beauty salon ‘Pride’, this morning I am really impressed! Pride is the new salon on Newmarket High Street next to the White Heart. I had a fabulous Dermalogica Prescriptive Facial (in which i was told my skin was close to perfect!), a luxurious manicure and pedicure with Leanne and then to complete my glamorising a Caviar hair treatment and blow dry. As it was my first visit to the salon I received a whopping 25% off and what’s more a voucher for a half price treatment on my return (when I bring a friend). I will certainly be taking advantage of my 1/2 price treatment as i’m sure my friends will be forming a queue when they see my glowing skin and perfect pink nails.

Ravenwood Hall Hotel
November 3rd, 2008We had an utterly cosy evening out at Ravenwood Hall this week, located just off the A14 to the east of Bury St Edmunds. The Hotel screams comfort with its three open fires, sleepy comfy sofas and a menu to warm anyones cockles! The menu is changed every season and has ounces of creativity in the dishes presented. We enjoyed to start the Camembert soufflé and roasted scallops. Our main course consisted of a delicate spatchcock partridge and hearty dish of roasted pork belly. If you are looking for somewhere special to eat we recommend Ravenwood Hall. See the full review in Novembers Nktbe … out Friday 31st October!

Beefing it up at Boot Camp
August 29th, 2008Its been my 5th week at Boot Camp and im addicted! I was the girl at school, come sports day would concoct every excuse in the book not to join in. Now I find myself, as an adult raring to go every Tuesday.
The warm up is a giggle, typically arm style, running and marching up and down Scaltback playing field and once hot and sweaty games based on endurance, strength and cardio fitness began. We run relays with car tyres above our heads, pull tractor tyres for 200 yards and before we were thoroughly worn out run for 400 metres with a rugby-tackling bag on our shoulders! Oh yes, and not to forget the odd assault course or bleep test thrown in for good measure.
Its something different getting fit out doors rather than in a sweaty hot gym! Its fun, Iv met loads of new people and the team spirit is lifting.
Every Tuesday at 6.45 for 7pm start / Scaltback School Newmarket / Call Inspire for further information 07738 936275
